What to Bring

  • For practices, please bring your glove and a water for your child. If you have a helmet and bat, bring those, as well. Please label your child's gear with their name.

  • For games, please bring the same gear but also dress your child in their uniform. We will distribute uniforms as soon as they arrive.

Coaching Goals

  • It is our goal to help your child grow as a player and teammate. GBA aims to teach even our youngest players the basics of the game in a safe and supportive environment.

  • For the White Sox, we will frame our goals in three areas:

    • Baseball Safe (We will be careful with equipment like bats. We will pay attention so as not to be hurt by a thrown/hit ball. We will be kind to others and encourage teammates.)

    • Baseball Smart (We will learn basics like how to run the bases in order, where and how to throw to first/field, and how to properly swing for hitting.)

    • Baseball Strong (We will exercise and grow at age-appropriate levels. We will learn to adapt and keep trying when frustrated.)

  • Please help reinforce safety and good listening practices with your child. Parental support is key to making sure all kids have fun and grow as ball players.

  • If you would like to help at practices or assistant coach, please let Coach Emily know. Help is always welcome!  â€‹

Announcements

  • Opening Day will be April 22nd. More details coming soon!

  • Parents/guardians will be asked to help run the pop stand. This is essential to GBA's fundraising and helps keep our registration prices low. More dates/details will be announced once the schedule is finalized.

  • Please make sure you are receiving the texts from Coach Emily Pocratsky so you do not miss any updates.

  • GBA sends out email updates often, so please check for those.

  • You may follow GBA on Facebook here.

  • GBA will be taking photos this season to post on our website and FB page. If you do not want photos of your child posted online, please email gfbaseball1951@gmail.com to be added to a "do not post" list.
