Steel City Showcase
Join GBA for our Second Annual Steel City Showcase, a girls baseball tournament for 12U, 46/60, C-Level girls baseball teams. This year, for the 75th anniversary of our league, we celebrate our beautiful city and its bridges, as we look to continuing bridging opportunity gaps for girls in baseball. Join us and our entire community in a supportive neighborhood environment, as we cheer on the grit and drive of our ballplayers.

Greenfield is in one of Pittsburgh's 90 neighborhoods, minutes from downtown and bordering the historic Oakland (home of the University of Pittsburgh) and Squirrel Hill (home of Carnegie Mellon University) neighborhoods. Enjoy scenic views of our skyline and rivers from our classic home ballpark, Hammer Field. This is a community event, with neighbors and local businesses demonstrating support in our crowds. Local kids and visitors are welcome to the playground, pickle ball, and basketball courts that are adjacent to our field. Real bathrooms, an announcer for games, plenty of viewing space, no entrance fees, free parking, and a fully stocked concession stand with grill make Hammer Field an enjoyable place to take in a game.
This weekend is a showcase event for our city, aiming to grow participation in girls baseball. We also want it to be a competitive and fun experience for the players. Limited to four teams to allow for multiple games for each team, first and second place teams receive rings and a large team trophy. All players from all teams will receive a showcase t-shirt, thanks to our generous sponsors.
As time permits, we will plan fill-in events on Friday, including for younger girl players, as well as the return of our "Womens Wiffle Ball Game" Saturday evening...a highlight event last year. Tournament games will be on Saturday and Sunday, with optional field practice time available for teams arriving Friday.
This is a C-level, 12U, 46/60 tournament, following standard Little League rules. The rulebook will be the same used as Pittsburgh CitiSports/RBI, and umpires will be from Pittsburgh CitiSports/RBI program. In the spirit of growing opportunities for girls, especially in urban settings, we are keeping our team registration fees as low as possible ($150 early bird special until spring, then $250). If the team fee is an issue, please contact us. Teams may register using the form below. Players and coaches may book any accomodations they like. We are happy to offer suggestions, if needed.
